Meet the Team
A charity for type 1 diabetes
ran by people with type 1 diabetes.
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in January 2010, just after my 9th birthday. We did not know anyone or anything about diabetes, like many others before they’re diagnosed. I lived in a big family, so we were used to chaos but this brought a whole new level of shock and adjustments for us all. The first 8 years of living with T1D were some of the toughest psychological challenges I could even explain. Being a teenage girl can be difficult enough but with this on top, I felt so different and craved that break from diabetes, which you can never get. Over time, and with the support of the ones around me, my perspective started to shift. It wasn’t easy and it took countless appointments and difficult conversations, but I began to embrace the condition and channel that negativity into positivity. Taking responsibility for my health played such a key role in that acceptance, and once I did I was determined to never let diabetes hold me back.
I left Royal Leamington Spa to study pharmacy in Liverpool and now I live in London working as a hospital pharmacist. I truly believe in all things fashion, fun and living life to the fullest.
My advocacy and peer support journey started with my local NHS team sharing my experiences with children and their parents, bridging that communication gap of what people living with the condition might find it difficult to say. Since 2018 I have been working in peer supportive events to empower and encourage people with T1D. I have found a passion for sharing my story, supporting others who may feel lost, & giving encouragement people didn’t know they needed.

My key message to others living with T1D is to not let diabetes stop you doing anything you want to in life, use it as motivation. Anything they can do, you can do too, with diabetes.
